Sunny: When I was a kid, I loved to paint rainbows and do art. Along the way, I got the idea that bright colors weren’t cool, and that I wasn’t that good at art (I compared myself to some really talented friends smh) Working on this with my mom, helped me step back into my artistic side and rekindled my love of bright colors!
Shoma: I also just wanted to make something colorful again. I’ve always loved peacock feathers, because of those magical shifting colors. When I was younger, I had this one feather I kept tucked inside a book and it always made me happy. There’s so much grace in the way peacocks show their beauty, and something about that made me want to step out of my own introverted shell and let myself be seen a little too.
Technique wise, I thought the feathers would be easy. Just flowy lines but it was one of those moments where life reminded me that things take way longer than I thought it would. But honestly, the process ended up being its own kind of fun.
