Sunny: When we moved to Ocala, I started talking with Greg (our next-door neighbor) about life. Greg’s a Christian and has played a big role on my journey and has educated me on what Christianity really means to him, so I just wanted to shout him out here because he’s been my brother in Christ. Fun fact: we used our golden retriever bliss as the model for the lamb!
Shoma: When I moved to Florida, I was lonely and looking for community, so I joined a church and felt really welcomed. They helped me find my way in the city, settle in, and I felt connected to something bigger than me, which I think is a big part of what Jesus wants, for us to feel part of something bigger. I could really feel him during that time in my life, it helped me walk out of depression and remember who I was. This painting is a representation of those times, when I felt the love, compassion, and guidance of Jesus, like I was the lamb, just held and cared for.
