Sunny: This one’s inspired by Sophia and she’s basically a real-life angel. She sees the beauty in me when I stop seeing it myself. I want to be like her when I grow up. Also if she started a cult, I would totally join.
Shoma: Initially, I started with a sketch of an angel I was excited about, but Sunny wasn’t feeling it, he said it was missing something and he was right. So, we started over and this one just fell into place. The field of blossoms feel alive, the colors feel joyful, she’s flying but she’s close to the earth, just enjoying the moment like one of us. I loved adding the white on her dress, because there’s so much purity coming from it and it flows so gently even though it’s made of sharp angles. Sunny made her feel real and alive.
