Sunny: I flew directly from a Ram Dass event where everybody was giving out warm, deep hugs to a Buddhist retreat. I was thinking it would be a Thich Nhat Hanh style thing where we’d learn about compassion and opening our hearts, but they had these teens shouting at us and ordering us around like a religious boot camp. I’m pretty sure I was looking for this buddha lol.
Shoma: We have a Buddha statue in our backyard and every day our dogs Sage and Bliss pee right in front of it. He always looks calm and peaceful. That’s what I wanted to capture in the painting and how I want to be when things get thrown at me that are new and uncomfortable to me
