Sunny: I’ve done a lot of ceremonies at night, so this is a tribute to that phase of my life. I like that the trees look like mushrooms and the moon’s got that alive look (if you’ve felt it you’ll know).
Shoma: I keep hearing this owl at night and at first it was a little eerie, but after a while it started feeling like music. Seeing it during the day and seeing who it was behind the sounds made me want to create an owl piece. The owl feels wise to me, because it’s this small bird with huge eyes that just stare at you. I wanted to paint it so you could get lost in those eyes, feel it watching even when you don’t see it. I tried to make the eyes soft and sharp at the same time.
