Sunny: Every time I hear a story about Ganesha, I feel like there’s a part of me that comes alive. He’s cheeky, stubborn, and loves to eat, all qualities that have gotten me in trouble more times than I can count. So, it only made sense that he would be the first painting in the New Earth series. While it came to life, our own lives were a whirlwind, and I’m sure it needed to happen for more art to come to life.
Shoma: In Hindu culture, everyone goes to Ganesha when they’re starting something new, so it felt right to begin the New Earth collection with him. Once I started painting, something shifted. Everything I thought Ganesha was dropped,dsfsfsf
and I started actually feeling into his presence. It turned into this two-way thing I didn’t expect, like I was giving the painting his energy, but the painting was also teaching me how to understand him on a deeper level. That was when I realized our work could talk back.
